Community

The Power BI User Group Foundation aims to build a community where people help each other, learn from one another, and inspire each other in the field of Power BI. Everything we do is driven by the belief that knowledge sharing should be accessible and approachable for everyone interested in data and analytics.

Our monthly evening sessions and the annual Power BI Gebruikersdagen make this possible. Each year we organize around ten evening sessions that are free to attend. These sessions usually include two presentations and are made possible by companies that open their offices to the community and provide catering.

The Power BI Gebruikersdagen is our annual flagship event and is made possible by many volunteers, dozens of speakers, and a wide range of partners. In 2024 we brought together more than 1,000 enthusiastic participants on a Saturday, all driven by their shared passion for Power BI.

In 2026 the event grew even further, welcoming 1,950 participants, 80 speakers, and 31 partners at the Arena

Volunteers

Our events would not be possible without the dedication and energy of our volunteers. During the Power BI Gebruikersdagen, a team of enthusiastic volunteers helps ensure that everything runs smoothly—from welcoming visitors and assisting with registration to supporting speakers and monitoring the session rooms.

Volunteering is a great way to get involved in the Power BI community, meet new people, and experience the event from behind the scenes. Many of our volunteers are passionate Power BI users themselves and enjoy contributing to an event that brings the community together.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, effort, and enthusiasm our volunteers bring to the event. Their commitment helps create a welcoming atmosphere and ensures that every participant has a great experience during the Power BI Gebruikersdagen.

Speakers

Knowledge sharing plays a central role in our community and is made possible by speakers from both the Netherlands and abroad. These can be Microsoft employees who fly in from Redmond to share their expertise, but also beginners who guide other beginners through the lessons they have learned while working with Power BI. After all, one of the most effective ways to learn is by explaining it to others.

It is important to note that speakers are not paid for their presentations (with the exception of Masterclasses during the Power BI Gebruikersdagen). They generously donate their time and effort to the community.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our speakers, who willingly share their time and expertise to make our events possible. It is inspiring to see how these professionals share their passion and knowledge of Power BI with others.

New: Business Tracks

During the Power BI Gebruikersdagen, everything revolves around inspiration, knowledge sharing, and the latest developments in Power BI. This year we are introducing the Business Tracks, a dedicated program focused on the business side of Power BI and its impact within organizations.

These sessions provide insights into how companies strategically use Power BI for data-driven decision-making, adoption and change management, governance, and security. The focus is not on the technical aspects, but on how Power BI contributes to business goals and organizational growth.

The first edition of the Business Tracks was a great success. Speakers from ABN AMRO, Bolletje, Menzis, Heijmans, the Municipality of Amsterdam, and Chromalloy shared their experiences and demonstrated how Power BI makes a difference within their organizations. This year, we are building on that success with even more inspiring sessions and real-world examples.

The Business Tracks are the place to be for managers, C-level executives, and BI leaders who want to discover how they can leverage Power BI to its full potential within their organizations.

Partners

Partners have the opportunity to showcase their products and services during the Power BI Gebruikersdagen, for example through their exhibition stands, videos shown during the keynote, or logos displayed on presentation slides. Their support provides an important source of funding that helps make the event possible.

Thanks to the contributions of our partners, we are able to offer high-quality presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities that help participants get the most out of Power BI. In addition, partners often provide valuable insights, tools, and solutions that further enhance the Power BI experience. We are proud to work together with these organizations and look forward to continuing our collaboration to support and grow the Power BI community.

PBIG board

The Power BI User Group Foundation consists of seven enthusiastic board members. In addition, three coordinators support the board in the day-to-day activities of the foundation. Almost every week we meet online or in person to organize inspiring monthly evening sessions and to prepare the large annual Power BI Gebruikersdagen.

The PBIG board also works to safeguard the independence of the foundation as much as possible, ensuring that all partners, speakers, and visitors are treated in a fair and equal manner.
