Community

The Power BI User Group Foundation aims to build a community where people help, learn from, and inspire each other in the field of Power BI — all in an accessible and approachable way.

This mission comes to life through the organization of Evening Sessions and the annual Power BI Community Days.

We host 10 free evening sessions per year, each typically featuring two presentations. These sessions are made possible by companies that generously provide their offices and catering to welcome the community.

The Power BI Community Days is an annual event powered by dedicated volunteers, dozens of speakers, and a wide range of partners. In 2024, we brought together over 1,000 passionate participants on a Saturday, all driven by their enthusiasm for Power BI.

In 2025, the event grew even further — welcoming 1,500 participants, 75 speakers, and 32 partners (including 16 exhibitors) — making it another major success for the Power BI community.

Speakers

Knowledge sharing plays a central role in our community and is brought to life by speakers from both the Netherlands and abroad. These include Microsoft employees who fly in specially from Redmond, as well as beginners who share their learning journeys with others who are just starting out with Power BI. After all, one of the most effective ways to learn is by teaching others!

It’s worth noting that speakers are not paid for their presentations (with the exception of Masterclasses during the Community Days). They generously donate their time and effort to the community.

We are deeply grateful for the dedication of our speakers, who selflessly share their time and expertise to make our events possible. It’s truly inspiring to see how these professionals spread their passion and knowledge of Power BI to help others grow.

New: Business Tracks

At the Power BI Community Days, everything revolves around inspiration, knowledge sharing, and the latest developments in Power BI. This year, we are introducing the Business Tracks — a brand-new program segment focused on the business side of Power BI and its impact within organizations.

These sessions provide insights into how companies are using Power BI strategically for data-driven decision-making, adoption and change management, governance, and security. The focus is not on the technical aspects, but on how Power BI contributes to business goals and organizational growth.

The first edition of the Business Tracks was a great success. Speakers from ABN AMRO, Bolletje, Menzis, Heijmans, the Municipality of Amsterdam, and Chromalloy shared their experiences and demonstrated how Power BI is making a difference within their organizations.

This year, we’re building on that success with even more inspiring sessions and real-world case studies. The Business Tracks are the place to be for managers, C-level executives, and BI leads who want to discover how to unlock the full potential of Power BI within their organizations.

Partners

Partners have the opportunity to showcase their products and services during the Power BI Community Days — for example, through exhibition stands, videos during the keynote, or logos featured on presentation slides. They provide an essential source of funding that makes the event possible.

Thanks to the support of our partners, we are able to offer high-quality presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities that help participants get the most out of Power BI. In addition, many partners provide valuable insights, tools, and solutions that further enhance the overall Power BI experience.

PBIG Team

The Power BI User Group Foundation consists of six enthusiastic board members, supported by three coordinators who assist with the daily operations of the foundation. Almost every week, we meet—either online or in person—to organize our monthly evening sessions and to plan the annual Power BI Community Days.

The PBIG board is also committed to maintaining the independence of the foundation, ensuring that all partners, speakers, and attendees are treated fairly and transparently.
